Proposal: MULTI-DWELLING-LEASE VARIATION-CONSOLIDATION-13 UNITS. The consolidation of blocks 15 16 and 17 section 5 Waramanga; a variation of the lease to permit 13 residential units; the demolition of three detached houses and the construction of one and two storey buildings comprising of 13 residential units. Period for representations closes: 10/02/2011.
I have no issue with the development itself as I understand that this is the way the suburbs are heading, however I have concerns with where the driveway is proposed to enter Garanya St.
It appears from the plans that location is as the road curves to the left and reaches the top of a slope. There is a high volume of cars already using this road combined with foot traffic, ie school children walking to school, and people walk to the shops with no footpath available. To add a potential 26 cars entering and leaving at this location is a recipe for disaster. Could the driveway be relocated to Damala St which is considerably wider, straighter and flatter and provides a footpath for pedestrians?
